There is no universally accepted definition of a Future city. It means different things to different people. The conceptualization of Future City, therefore, varies from city to city and country to country, depending on the level of development, willingness to change and reform, resources and aspirations of the city residents. A Future city would have a different connotation in India than, say, Europe.
The cities have been one of the key topics of interest to academic researchers, policy makers, and the governments. In many countries, an important part of public resources and business and research activities is directly related to innovation in this area, So that researchers believe that cities play a crucial role as engines of economic growth and employment opportunities, as places of connectivity, creativity and innovation, and as centers of services.

Countries are facing with many challenges for economic growth and one of the best ways to avoid them is through more innovation. Urban issues and damage caused by an imbalance between urban facilities and urban population that it is directly related to lack of modern management and urban development.
Today, along with urban problems such as lack of housing, social problems, marginalization, poverty and inequality, noise pollution, air pollution, lack of recreational facilities, urban management problems and so on with extending the urban life the problems will also extend. Therefore, to identify the effective mechanisms, strategic analysis, providing programs for sustainability of urban development becomes inevitable. So the most important subject that has always attracted the attention of city managers is finding solutions to these problems and increase social welfare. To achieve this goal requires a universal determination, serious, purposeful and based on the findings of the empirical and definitive and free of any non-realistic illustration of the structure in the future. In order to achieve this, the need to create or upgrade infrastructures in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) and development of technologies related to the Internet of Things (IOT) and convergence of information standards (data) is necessary.
Research shows that by 2020 more than 25 billion devices in the world via Internet-based services objects will be connected to the internet or other information networks. According the research of IDC Institution the market value of the products and services of Internet of Things 2017 is reaching $ 7.3 trillion, this is despite the fact that the market in 2012 was worth only $ 4.8 trillion. According to research carried out 4.9 billion devices expected to be connected to each other this year and this figure will reach 25 billion by 2020.
